Egesa Ronald Leonard is a software engineer, techpreneur and business/leadership strategist with experience in more than seven African countries.
He has been involved in the ICT industry for more than twenty years, having started out as a computer programmer at an early age in school. Egesa first shot to international prominence in 2008 as the first African to develop a Mobile Money system that was mobile network-agnostic.
As co-founder and long-serving C.E.O of the largest educational software provider in Uganda, Egesa has a proven track record of managing technology businesses coupled with consulting experience in a number of international organisations. He has worked as a Software Quality Assurance Consultant at the World Bank Group’s Water & Sanitation Program – Africa based in Nairobi, Kenya. He has also consulted for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the International Labour Organization (ILO), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) among others
Egesa undertook his undergraduate study in computing and information systems at the University of London’s External Programme and postgraduate study (Msc.) in Software Engineering at the University of Liverpool’s Online Programme.
He has been a trailblazer on the East African tech space especially in the FinTech and EdTech fields. He has also authored books on Technology, Business and Politics within the context of the developing world.

Egesa is a Professional Member of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) since 2011 and the British Computer Society since 2013.
